Technical Project Manager
As a Technical Project Manager, you will be an integral contributor to a small, dynamic, cross-functional team of technical, clinical, QA/RA, and marketing individuals devoted to developing surgical imaging products in a fast-paced and fun start-up office located in downtown Toronto.
Your main area of responsibility will be to manage team activities to ensure timely completion of milestones for product development, verification and validation, and production transfer. Day to day duties will include scheduling and resourcing for internal, contract engineering, and contract manufacturing partners, as well as working within the development team to draft, compile, and review design history file documentation, including risk management file documents and verification and validation test protocols and reports. The successful candidate will operate with a ‘start up’ mindset and is energized by the idea of working closely with a small team of other like-minded people.
Major Responsibilities:
?     Ensure timely completion of milestones by internal and external team members
?     Own design and development plan
?     Track open action items from design reviews
?     Active participant in all stages of design, development, V&V testing, design control activities, and production transfer 
?     Participate in the review of product requirements, design requirements, software requirements specifications, and functional specifications
?     Participate in Risk Management activities
?     Compile, draft and finalize Design History File documentation, as required
?     Other tasks as assigned
Minimal Qualifications:
?     5+ years of experience in a technical role within FDA and/or ISO 13485-compliant quality management systems
?     Previous experience working with contract partners (contract engineering and/or contract manufacturing)
?     Demonstrated project management skills and experience
?     Demonstrated success within a start-up, entrepreneurial work environment
?     Proficient in compiling, drafting and reviewing technical documentation
?     Fluent in computer skills and, at a minimum, the use of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint
Highly Desired Qualifications:
?     Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent
?     Previous experience managing a production launch
?     Education in or experience with medical imaging devices
?     Education in or experience with optics
?     Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to “think outside the box”
?     Self-motivated and self-directed
?     Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
